Starting from the principle that knowledge is the key to change, the author offers a historical analysis of China's vicissitudes at the dawn of the 21st century, questioning the future of Christianity in China. To grasp the dynamics shaping the world's most populous country, it is necessary to dissociate oneself from the Eurocentric view that for centuries has characterized an invasive and self-proclaimed "superior" West: interactions between peoples, in fact, are based on knowledge and mutual respect, and this is the starting point for building the church in China.
